GrowSpot

Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

Agreeing to these terms

By using GrowSpot, you agree to these terms. "GrowSpot" here means the app and this website, including the free spot checker — which you can use without an account, and which these terms cover in full.

What GrowSpot is

GrowSpot gives plant care guidance — light matching, watering and care reminders, and diagnosis help. It's informational and best-effort. Living plants depend on many things we can't see, so we can't guarantee any plant will thrive.

The free spot checker on this website works from what you tell it about a spot, plus the weather where you are. It's an estimate, and it says so on the page. The app measures the light at the spot instead of estimating it — but neither is a guarantee.

Your account

You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Please keep the information you add accurate so the guidance stays useful.

Subscriptions & billing

GrowSpot is free to use with two spots and two plants. An optional subscription raises those limits. Subscriptions are billed and managed through your app store account, renew automatically until cancelled, and can be cancelled there at any time.

Using it responsibly

Please don't misuse GrowSpot — no breaking it, abusing it, or using it to harm others or infringe anyone's rights.

The spot checker is free for people checking their own spots. It isn't a free backend for someone else's product. So, specifically: don't scrape it or query it in bulk, don't automate it, don't put it in a frame or wrapper on another site, and don't try to reconstruct the plant data or the scoring behind it. The results are ours; use them for your own plants and share them freely, but don't republish them as a dataset.

Your content stays yours

The plants, photos, and notes you add are yours. You give us only the permission needed to store and show them back to you so the app works.

No warranty

GrowSpot is provided "as is." Care guidance is a helpful estimate, not professional or guaranteed advice, and we don't warrant that any plant will survive or that the service will be uninterrupted.

Where we show whether a plant is toxic to cats and dogs, we're passing on what the ASPCA lists for that species, and we say plainly when we don't know. It's a starting point, not veterinary advice — if a pet eats a plant, call a vet.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, GrowSpot isn't liable for indirect or incidental losses arising from your use of the app, including loss of a plant.

Ending use

You can stop using GrowSpot and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend access if these terms are seriously misused.

Changes & contact

We may update these terms; meaningful changes will be reflected here. Questions? Reach us at [email protected].
